The 2025 edition of the National Investment Quiz Competition (NIQ), Ghana’s largest and most impactful investment education initiative, has officially commenced, bringing together some of the brightest students from Senior High Schools across the country.
Organized by the Young Investors Network (YIN) in collaboration with the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), the Central Securities Depository (CSD), and Absa Bank Ghana, the NIQ is more than an academic contest—it is a national campaign aimed at deepening financial literacy and strengthening investment education across Ghana.
This year’s competition is expected to reach thousands of students and millions of Ghanaians through both digital and traditional media platforms. As students battle for the coveted national trophy, they also carry a bigger mission—to educate the public on essential financial and investment concepts, including savings, budgeting, capital market operations, securities trading, pensions, insurance, and wealth creation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, organisers and partners emphasized the significance of equipping young people with financial knowledge in an increasingly complex economic environment. “The NIQ is not just a competition; it is a national movement to build a financially savvy generation,” they said.
The competition features quizzes, financial analysis tasks, stock market simulations, and real-life investment scenarios designed with support from experts from the Ghana Stock Exchange, CSD, and Absa. Participating schools undergo intensive preparation, including training and mentorship to sharpen their analytical and investment decision-making skills.
The NIQ continues to stand out for its dual impact enhancing the financial intelligence of participating students while simultaneously educating the general public through televised sessions, newspaper publications, and online engagements. This unique model has cemented the competition as one of Ghana’s strongest tools for public investment education.
With increasing national interest from educational institutions, financial sector players, parents, and youth groups, the 2025 edition promises to be one of the most engaging and transformative yet. As the various stages unfold, Ghanaians are encouraged to follow the competition, learn from the students, and be part of the broader conversation on financial literacy and investment readiness.
Jerry Boachie-Danquah, Head of Marketing at the Ghana Stock Exchange, stated:
“The National Investment Quiz is not just a competition — it is an investment into the future of Ghana. At the Ghana Stock Exchange, we believe that when young people understand how money works, they become empowered to shape their own financial destinies. These students are the future fund managers, analysts, and economic leaders who will drive Ghana’s capital market forward. We are proud to support a platform that lights the spark of curiosity, confidence, and financial discipline in our youth.”
The Executive Director of the Young Investors Network,
Mr. Joshua Mensah, also delivered a powerful message on the significance of the NIQ:
“Our mission has always been simple — to make financial literacy a national culture, not a privilege. The National Investment Quiz gives young people the courage to dream, the knowledge to build, and the power to transform their future. When students take part in this program, they do more than answer questions — they educate thousands across Ghana. This is how we build a generation that saves, invests, and grows with purpose.”
Beyond the competition itself, the NIQ continues to inspire families, communities, and schools to embrace investment education as a vital life skill.
The 2025 edition promises to be the most transformative yet—featuring digital quizzes, stock simulation activities, expert mentorship, and expanded national coverage.
The commencement of the National Investment Quiz 2025 marks another significant milestone in Ghana’s journey toward financial inclusion and youth empowerment. As the competition unfolds, students will not only compete—they will help shape the financial future of the nation.
The National Investment Quiz Competition, powered by the Young Investors Network with support from the Ghana Stock Exchange, Central Securities Depository, and Absa Bank, reaffirms Ghana’s commitment to building a financially literate and economically empowered youth population.
